Northern Nigeria has some of the country's widest gaps in digital access — particularly for women, persons with disabilities, and displaced young people. Our programmes are designed around those learners rather than adapted for them afterwards.
Female enrolment is tracked as a primary programme metric, not reported as an afterthought. Our digital literacy tracks are structured to accommodate learners reaching a computer for the first time.
PWD inclusion is written into our programme design and into the national partnerships we deliver under, including GATEWAY and IDEAS.
Tracks run from basic computer literacy through to production software development, with a route into freelance work via Connecta, our own gig marketplace.
Most organisations at our scale report from spreadsheets, weeks after the fact. Pioneers ICT runs its own live monitoring system, built and operated in-house.
Hub staff record each participant's attendance individually, on the day it happens, through a purpose-built form in our internal portal — not reconstructed later from memory or paper registers.
Participant rosters, weekly attendance, follow-up outcomes and voucher redemption records sync automatically into a single database every hour, so management reporting reflects current reality.
Our Senior Management Team reviews participation, at-risk learners, follow-up progress and data-quality warnings on a live dashboard. Gaps in the underlying data are surfaced explicitly rather than smoothed over.
Any number we report can be traced back to an individual, dated participant record. A funding partner can ask how a figure was derived and receive a specific answer.
Participation figures for our current GATEWAY cohort are being finalised. Pioneers ICT is an implementing hub for the CcHUB / Mastercard Foundation GATEWAY Programme, a five-year national digital skills initiative. Cohort figures are undergoing internal verification against our participant records before publication. We would rather publish a number late than publish one we cannot stand behind — and we will share verified figures with prospective partners on request in the meantime.
We have the facility, the team, the systems and the track record. What partnership funding buys is volume — more learners, more tracks, more of northern Nigeria.
